Pros and cons of Espresso from The Economist app for iPhone and iPad

Espresso from The Economist app good for

Excellent morning briefing you can read in less than 5 minutes. I use it primarily as a source of inspiration and to get charged up before work. As some mentioned the ability to download new issue in the background would be a welcome addition, however over a few months there has only been one day when I forgot to do it, and couldnt read the new issue on the metro.
Ideal format in terms of number of articles and lenght. And the quality one expects from the Economist.
I check Espresso every morning to get up to speed on current events. The quote of the day is also very good and often post-worthy for my friends. I get the print and digital versions of the weekly Economist as well
The daily edition gives me a quick look at whats happening in the world. Its a great little app.
It takes only 5 minutes every morning to find out what matters.
Its the best way to get up in the morning! It provides concise but accurate news about whats going on in europe and abroad.

Some bad moments

Unfortunately the new articles sometimes get published very late the morning or during the day, which undermines an otherwise great app. Good content.
Two things I think that would make this app a lot better: download automatically each days new issue, and cache it so I can view it later when I dont have Internet access. I like to read on subway, but without Internet access, the app will simply display "please try again later" and wont even let me read issues I had downloaded before.
The app doesnt load properly. Every time I use it I have to try several times before the days content is loaded. If it wasnt for this (big) problem, I would really recommend the app
Contents are great. But with the new version it is impossible to connect , email is not recognized. With previous version I had to make up to 4 attempts to connect to the new daily content - it always brought me back to the day before. "Espresso" definitely not the adequate name......
I m a big fan of The Economist, so I hate to say that this app is really not working well. It constantly crashes and it also takes a long time to load (if it loads at all). Definitely room for improvement - not recommendable yet!
There is no option to unsubscribe and they force you to subscribe during the testing period. I liked your business before.
